Hi, I’m Kate,
The founder and designer behind Westbriar Floral Studio. I’m so happy that you’re here!
After six years in the floral industry, I created Westbriar to focus on my true passion: providing floral art to craft the atmosphere of our most unforgettable life moments.
My affinity for flowers has been lifelong. I have been lucky enough to be surrounded by a family who has a love for all things that grow, and who have nurtured that enthusiasm in me from a young age. From the very first zinnia I ever grew, to the first succulent I propagated, I have appreciated the symbiotic relationship between humans and flora – the balance of planting, nurturing and collecting with respect.
While floral design as a career wasn’t something that was originally in my life plan, I am so grateful that I found my way into an industry that gives me the opportunity to express my creativity while helping people celebrate their best days, honour their loved ones, and create cherished memories.
Before flowers, I attended university in Kingston, Toronto and Edinburgh, dabbled in fashion and journalism, worked at a charitable organization to help children living with physical disabilities, and did a lot of retail in between.
Outside of work, you can find me planting in the garden, planning trips around the world, and struggling to delete some of my floral photos so I actually have space on my phone.

We are located in Kingston, Ontario and service Kingston, Belleville, Prince Edward County, Brockville, Sharbot Lake and everywhere in between.
Are you outside of that region (Toronto, the coasts or abroad)? Contact Us with the details of your event and we can discuss the logistics!

Floral costs vary drastically depending on the chosen style, colours, season and number of pieces/arrangements needed. The best way to know for sure is to book a consultation for your wedding or event so we can discuss all the options and create a custom proposal for your needs.

Typically, our minimum booking investment is $1,000, but there can be exceptions. We can discuss what you’re looking for during your consultation to see if we are able to work together!

We often book 6-12 months prior to the wedding. Getting married sooner? Submit an inquiry and we’ll see if we have availability on your date.

Of course we love to design for weddings, but we also enjoy working on large engagement installations, corporate events and holiday parties, anniversary and birthday celebrations, product launches and visual storefront and restaurant displays. Definitely! We recommend filling out the wedding or event form as usual, but in the “Anything you’d like us to know” field give us a few ideas about who you are and what your personal style is. Are you a free spirit? Do you love bright colours? Do you friends describe your style as classic or understated? We can then make some suggestions of the latest styles we think you’ll love.

Absolutely! During our consultation I would be happy to recommend trusted vendors (cake designers, planners, photographers, preservationists etc.) who we love to work with.
